Barik (Բառիկ)
Wordle in Western Armenian: one five-letter word a day in six guesses.
Every day: One hidden five-letter Western Armenian word a day, in classical spelling, the same for every player on the same date, to find in six guesses with coloured-tile feedback. New puzzle: Midnight, local time.

Barik (Բառիկ, little word) is a free Western Armenian version of Wordle. Each day there is one hidden five-letter word, the same for everyone, which you find in six guesses on an Armenian keyboard. It uses the classical spelling of Western Armenian, the language of most of the Armenian diaspora.
About Barik (Բառիկ)
Barik brings Wordle to Western Armenian, the branch of the language spoken across much of the Armenian diaspora and written in classical orthography. Its settings page credits the adaptation to @sourenig and @ThePoliticsWand, built on the open-source react-wordle code, and points players of Eastern, reformed-spelling Armenian to its sister game Bardl.
The on-screen keyboard carries the Armenian alphabet, and the game's text, from the rules to the statistics, is in Western Armenian: guess the Barik in six tries. Each guess must be a five-letter word. The tiles turn green when a letter is in the right place, yellow when it is in the word but elsewhere, and grey when it is not in the word. A high-contrast colour-blind mode is in the settings.
The answer is chosen by counting days from 24 January 2022, so everyone gets the same word on the same date, and it changes at midnight in your own time zone. Barik runs in the browser with no account.
How to play Barik (Բառիկ)
- Open Barik and type a five-letter Western Armenian word on the on-screen keyboard.
- Press Enter to check it.
- Read the tiles: green is the right letter in the right place, yellow is in the word elsewhere, grey is not in the word.
- Use those clues in your next guess.
- Find the word in six tries or fewer.
Tips
- Barik uses classical Western Armenian spelling, so words are spelled as in diaspora schools and newspapers rather than in reformed Eastern spelling.
- The digraph ու counts as two letters, ո and ւ.
- If you write Eastern Armenian, Bardl is the matching game in reformed spelling.
