Parley
Rate itGuess five English words from their translations, spending each of twelve languages once.
Every day: Five English words a day, the same for everyone, each guessed from its translations in twelve languages, with each language usable only once across the five. New puzzle: Midnight, your local time.

Parley is a daily translation puzzle. You guess five English words, and for clues you tap flags to reveal and hear each word in other languages, from Spanish and German to Japanese and Arabic. The catch is that each of the twelve languages can be used only once across all five words, so you must spend them wisely.
About Parley
Parley sets five English words a day, the same for every player, and gives you twelve languages to uncover them with: Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Dutch, Turkish, Swedish, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Arabic. Each word shows its length in empty boxes and a short label, and you tap a flag to reveal the word's translation in that language and hear it spoken.
The strategy is in the budget. Each language can be used only once across all five words, so spending Spanish and Italian on an easy first word may leave you with only Japanese and Arabic for a hard last one. Wrong guesses reveal letters of the answer to help you, and the fewer clues you use, the higher your score, up to 15. At the end you can share your result and see the day's words.
The puzzle changes each day by your device's date and has been numbered from 1 January 2026. Parley is made by the translation company Tomedes and runs free in the browser with no account. It suits language learners and anyone who likes spotting a word through its cousins in other languages.
How to play Parley
- Press Play to start the day's five words.
- Look at the number of letter boxes and the word's label.
- Tap a language flag to reveal the word in that language and hear it spoken.
- Type your English guess; wrong guesses reveal letters of the answer.
- Move through all five words, remembering each language can be used only once, and share your score.
Tips
- Save the languages closest to English, such as Dutch, German and Swedish, for the hardest words.
- Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese often share a root: one of them may be enough for a word with a Latin origin.
- Use the letter count before spending a clue: it rules out many candidates.
- A wrong guess is not wasted, since it reveals letters, but every clue lowers your score.
