LinguaBoard
A daily 3x3 grid where every cell is a language that fits both its row and its column.
Every day: One numbered 3x3 grid of language categories per day (Puzzle #130 on 2 October 2026), counted from the game's start date so everyone gets the same board, with a choice of difficulty. New puzzle: At local midnight.

LinguaBoard is a daily language trivia grid from MachineTranslation.com. Each row and column is a category about languages, scripts or the countries that speak them, and you have nine guesses to name a language for every cell.
About LinguaBoard
LinguaBoard is a free daily puzzle made by MachineTranslation.com, a translation website. It works like the sports grid games: a 3x3 board where each row and each column has a category, and each cell needs a language that fits both. Categories mix linguistics, writing systems and facts about where languages are spoken, such as an official language of the United Nations, a language spoken in a country with a reigning monarchy, or a language of a globally iconic music tradition.
The puzzle number is counted from the game's first day in May 2026, so every player sees the same board on the same date. You get nine guesses in total and three hints, and you can pick a difficulty level before you start. A strip of language facts runs above the board while you play.
After the daily board there is an Unlimited mode for extra grids and a Past Puzzles list for earlier days.
It suits language learners, linguistics fans and anyone who likes grid trivia but would rather think about Portuguese and Swahili than baseball players.
How to play LinguaBoard
- Open LinguaBoard in a browser and choose a difficulty.
- Click a cell and type a language that matches both its row and column category.
- Each guess, right or wrong, uses one of your nine guesses; use the three hints if you are stuck.
- Fill as many cells as you can, then share your result or try a past puzzle.
Tips
- Widely spoken languages such as English, Spanish, French and Arabic fit many categories, so save them for the cells where you have fewer ideas.
- Start with the cell where the two categories overlap least; it has the fewest answers.
- Unlimited mode is a good place to practise the categories without spending your daily guesses.
