Ordlig is a Swedish take on Wordle. Everyone guesses the same Swedish word each day in up to six tries, with coloured tiles showing which letters are right and where. The word is a base form listed in the Swedish Academy's word list SAOL, and at weekends it grows from five to six letters.

About Ordlig

Ordlig follows the Wordle formula with a Swedish keyboard, including Å, Ä and Ö. You have six guesses to find the day's word. After each guess, a green tile marks a letter in the right place, a yellow tile a letter in the word but elsewhere, and a grey tile a letter not in the word.

The answer is always in its base form and appears in SAOL, the Swedish Academy's glossary. On weekdays the word has five letters; on Saturdays and Sundays it has six, which makes the weekend puzzle a little harder.

Everyone plays the same word each day, and after finishing you can see how your result compares with other players, including how many failed and the most common number of guesses. Yesterday's answer can be looked up from the statistics box. Signing in with Google is optional and keeps your statistics across devices. Settings include colour-blind colours and automatic submission when a row is full.

It suits Swedish speakers and learners who want a daily word game in their own language.

How to play Ordlig

  1. Open Ordlig and press Börja spela.
  2. Type a valid Swedish word (five letters, six at weekends) and press Enter.
  3. Read the tiles: green is the right letter in the right place, yellow is in the word elsewhere, grey is not in the word.
  4. Use the clues to make your next guess.
  5. Find the word within six guesses and compare your result with other players.

Tips

  • Start with a word using common Swedish letters such as A, E, R, S and T.
  • Remember Å, Ä and Ö: they are separate letters on the keyboard.
  • Answers are base forms, so skip plurals and inflected verbs.
  • Expect six letters on Saturdays and Sundays.
