Par🇮🇹le, also written Parole, is Wordle in Italian. Each day there is one new five-letter Italian word, and you have six tries to find it with green, yellow and grey tiles as clues. It runs in the browser with no account.

About Par🇮🇹le (Wordle in italiano)

Par🇮🇹le is an Italian version of Wordle, with the Italian flag standing in for the O in its name. Its page title calls it a game of one word a day, and its rules end with the line that a new game comes out every day. The project is hosted on GitHub under the account pietroppeter, where feedback and issues are collected.

The game follows the familiar pattern. You type an Italian word of five letters, and each tile turns green if the letter is in the right place, yellow if the letter is in the word but elsewhere, and grey if it is not there. Six tries are allowed, and the day's word is the same for every player, so results can be shared as a grid of coloured squares without giving the answer away. The puzzle number shown at the foot of the page counts the days since the game started in January 2022.

Because Italian words end in vowels so often, the vowels at the end of a word give less away than in English, and players tend to learn more from the consonants in the middle. It suits Italian speakers, learners who want a daily vocabulary check, and anyone who plays Wordle and wants a second word in another language.

How to play Par🇮🇹le (Wordle in italiano)

  1. Type a five-letter Italian word and press enter.
  2. Read the tiles: green is right letter and place, yellow is in the word elsewhere, grey is not in the word.
  3. Use what you learned in the next guess.
  4. Find the word within six tries, then share your grid.

Tips

  • Many Italian words end in a vowel, so test consonants in the middle of the word early.
  • Double letters such as tt, ll and ss are common; keep them in mind when a letter is confirmed but the word will not fit.
