Alpha-Bet, bet on letters

Alpha-Bet is a daily word game played with chips. You get a one-line clue to a seven-letter word and 100 chips to spread across the alphabet; every letter has odds, so rare letters pay more if they are in the word. After the reveal you stake part of your balance on guessing the word, and your score is ranked against everyone who played that day.

About Alpha-Bet

Alpha-Bet mixes a word puzzle with a betting slip. Each numbered game starts with a single clue, a short definition of the day's seven-letter word. You then place your 100 chips on any letters you like, between 5 and 40 chips on each. Every letter shows its odds: common letters like E pay little, rare ones like Z pay a lot.

When you reveal, each staked letter that is in the word pays your stake times its odds and shows every position it sits in, with 50 percent more for each extra time it appears. Letters that are not in the word lose their stake. If your bets uncover the whole word, you cash out at once with a small bonus. Otherwise you move to the conviction wager: risk a quarter, half or all of your balance on one guess at the word. A right answer pays more the more possible words were still left; a wrong one loses only that wager. You can also pass and keep your balance.

Afterwards a breakdown shows how each bet did, your best and riskiest choices, and whether spreading your chips evenly would have scored more. Your final balance joins the day's world distribution, so you can see what share of players you beat, and the game tracks streaks and your best ranking. The site is available in several languages.

Alpha-Bet suits players who like Wordle-style deduction but enjoy weighing risk as much as finding the word.

How to play Alpha-Bet

  1. Open alpha-bet.club and read today's clue to the seven-letter word.

  3. Press Reveal: letters in the word pay stake times odds and show their positions; absent letters lose their stake.
  4. Choose how much of your balance to risk on one guess at the word, or pass and cash out.
  5. See your score breakdown and how you rank against today's players.

Tips

  • Read the clue first and list candidate words before spending a single chip.
  • Rare letters pay big but are risky; put larger stakes on letters most of your candidate words share.
  • A letter that appears twice pays 50 percent extra, so common double letters can be worth backing.
  • Risk more on the final guess when the reveal leaves only one or two words that fit.
