ClueRoll
Solve a word clue, then roll letter cubes into place to spell the answer.
Every day: One dated puzzle a day, the same for everyone: solve a four-letter word clue, then roll six-faced letter cubes across a board so their top faces spell the answer, collecting fragments toward a weekly phrase. New puzzle: Once a day; the site does not state the time.

ClueRoll is a daily puzzle in two parts. First you work out a short answer from a word clue, such as an analogy or a double definition. Then you roll six-faced letter cubes across a board until their top faces spell it in the answer slots. Each day you complete earns letter fragments toward a separate weekly phrase.
About ClueRoll
ClueRoll starts with a word clue. The daily clues come in four forms: common links, double definitions, missing links and analogies. The puzzle for 2 October 2026, for example, was an analogy, HEAVY is to LIGHT as FAST is to what, with a four-letter answer.
Knowing the answer is only the beginning. You do not type it; you spell it by rolling six-faced letter cubes across a board, and each roll changes which face is on top. The board's layout, its entrances, the other cubes and any letters you have already locked all affect which routes work. A correct letter in the correct slot turns green and locks in place. You can inspect every face of every cube, undo moves, and use word hints or cube hints if you need them.
Each completed daily puzzle earns four preassigned letter fragments for that week, and the fragments help you build a weekly phrase as a bigger goal. Past dates are in an archive, and a guided lesson teaches the rules without touching your daily progress. Progress is stored in your browser, and the game works with mouse, keyboard or touch.
ClueRoll suits players who like both crossword-style clues and spatial route-finding puzzles.
How to play ClueRoll
- Open clueroll.com and read the day's clue.
- Work out the four-letter answer.
- Roll the letter cubes across the board, watching which face ends up on top.
- Get each correct letter into its answer slot, where it turns green and locks.
- Finish the puzzle to collect its fragments for the weekly phrase.
Tips
- Solve the clue fully before rolling; the route depends on which letters you need where.
- Inspect each cube's six faces first to plan which cube will deliver which letter.
- Lock the hardest letter first; locked letters change which routes stay open.
- Use undo freely to test routes.
