Every day: Three word bridges a day, the same for everyone: each one gives a word on the left and a word on the right, and you find the middle word that completes both. New puzzle: Midnight Pacific Time.

Middleman is a free browser word game with three shared bridges a day. Each bridge shows two words, such as RAIN and TIE, and you type the middle word that joins them into two compounds or phrases (BOW: rainbow and bow tie). A clean day scores nine points, and the result can be shared without giving the words away.
About Middleman
Middleman is a small daily word game built on compound words and familiar phrases. Each puzzle sets two words on either side of an empty set of letter boxes. The answer is the single word that finishes the left word and starts the right one: between RAIN and TIE the middle word is BOW, for rainbow and bow tie. The boxes show how many letters the answer has.
The Daily gives everyone the same three bridges, numbered by day, and changes at midnight Pacific Time. Each bridge is worth three points when solved cleanly. A wrong guess or a revealed letter costs one point, so a perfect day is nine. When you finish you can share a score that does not spoil the answers.
Beyond the Daily there are two modes you can play as often as you like. Rush gives you 45 seconds to solve as many bridges as you can, and a revealed letter costs three seconds; your first completed Rush run each day counts as the official one. Endless starts with easier bridges and gets harder as the timer tightens, with three chances per level.
The game is free, needs no account and keeps streaks, scores and personal bests in your browser on that device. It suits players who like the linking step in games such as Connections or compound-word chains but want something done in a couple of minutes.
How to play Middleman

- Solve all three bridges, then share your score.

Tips
- Try the right-hand word first: words that start a phrase are often easier to list than words that end one.
- The number of boxes tells you the answer's length, so rule out ideas that do not fit before guessing.
- A wrong guess costs as much as a revealed letter, so reveal one rather than guess blindly.
- Play a few Endless bridges after the Daily to get used to the kinds of compounds the game uses.
Questions
What time does the Middleman daily reset?
The Daily follows the date in Pacific Time, so a new set of three bridges starts at midnight Pacific.
How is Middleman scored?
Each of the three daily bridges is worth three points. Every wrong guess or revealed letter takes off one point, so a perfect day is nine points.
Do I need an account to play Middleman?
No. The game is free and keeps your streaks, scores and personal bests in your browser on the device you play on.
Can I play more than the daily puzzle?
Yes. Rush gives you 45 seconds to solve as many bridges as you can, and Endless keeps going with harder bridges until you run out of time or chances.
