MeloGuessr
Hear a song, then pin where the artist comes from on a world map.
Every day: A numbered Daily Challenge, the same for everyone: five songs, and for each you listen and place the artist's origin on a world map, scored on distance and speed. New puzzle: Midnight UTC (from the game's countdown code).

MeloGuessr is a music and geography quiz: a song plays and you drop a marker where you think the artist comes from. The Daily Challenge gives everyone the same five songs, with points for how close and how fast you are. Free Play and a World Explorer mode with rarer music are there for practice.
About MeloGuessr
MeloGuessr crosses a music blind test with a map game. A song plays, and instead of naming it you work out where the artist comes from and drop a marker on a world map. The closer your pin lands to the artist's origin, and the faster you place it, the more points you get. The game credits its maker as Adrien Larouzee and runs on donations.
The Daily Challenge is the part that makes it a daily game: a numbered set of five songs, the same for every player, counted from 12 January 2025. A countdown on the button shows how long until the next one, and it turns over at midnight UTC. Outside the daily, Free Play lets you practise as long as you like, and World Explorer draws on harder, less familiar music from around the globe.
The clips are short previews, so knowing the song helps, but a good ear for language, instruments and genre takes you a long way even when you have never heard it: a reggaeton beat, a Portuguese lyric or a kora line all narrow the map. It suits music fans who like GeoGuessr-style pinning and want a round that takes a few minutes.
How to play MeloGuessr
- Open MeloGuessr and press Daily Challenge to start the day's five songs.
- Listen to the clip and think about the language, sound and style.
- Drop your marker on the world map where you think the artist comes from, and confirm before time runs down.
- See how far you were and your points, then go on to the next song.
- After five songs, compare your total, and come back when the countdown reaches zero.
Tips
- Listen to the language of the lyrics first: it often narrows the answer to a region.
- Instruments and rhythms are strong clues where there are no words.
- Place your pin quickly once you are fairly sure: speed counts toward the score.
- Use Free Play to practise between daily challenges.
