Liftle

Liftle board: front and back muscle diagrams with an activation scale, an exercise guess box and empty rows for exercise, equipment, movement and percentage

Liftle is a daily guessing game for people who lift. You have six tries to name the day's exercise, and each guess is compared with it on equipment, movement pattern and a percentage match, while front and back body maps light up the muscles involved from inactive to activated.

About Liftle

Liftle takes the -dle format to the gym. The answer each day is one exercise, and you search the exercise list to make a guess.

Every guess fills a row with clues comparing it with the answer: its equipment, its movement and a percentage. Beside the guess box, front and back diagrams of the body are shaded on a scale from inactive through mid to activated, a heat map of the muscles involved.

Reading the muscle map is the heart of it: knowing which lifts load the hamstrings and glutes, or the upper chest rather than the whole of it, turns a vague guess into a short list. With six guesses, a good player uses the first one or two to pin down the body part and the equipment.

It suits anyone who knows their way around a training plan and wants a quick daily test.

How to play Liftle

  1. Type an exercise in the search box and press Guess.
  2. Read the row of clues: equipment, movement and percentage.
  3. Check the front and back body maps for which muscles are activated.
  4. Narrow down the exercise and guess again.
  5. Name it within six tries.

Tips

  • Open with a compound lift that works many muscles: its comparison tells you more.
  • Equipment is the quickest filter: once it matches, stay with it.
  • Use the back view as well as the front: pulls and hinges show up there.
