Boxdle is the daily driver guessing game on BoxBoxd, a social site for rating motorsport races. You have six tries to find the day's Formula 1 driver, and each guess shows how it compares on nationality, team, age, race number and debut. A new driver arrives at midnight CET.
About Boxdle (BoxBoxd)
BoxBoxd is a motorsport social network where fans log and rate the races they watch, and Boxdle is its daily Formula 1 game. Every day at midnight CET one driver from a pool of more than a hundred current and past drivers becomes the answer for everyone.
You type a driver's name and the guess fills a row of six cells: the driver, nationality, team, age, race number and debut. Green means correct and grey means wrong. A yellow team cell means the hidden driver drove for that team at some point, even if it was not their main one, and orange and blue mark when the answer's number is higher or lower. The notes under the board explain the details: the team is the one the driver started most races for, the number is the one they carried most often, and age is the driver's age today or at death.
You get six rows to find the driver, and results can be shared or compared on a daily leaderboard. BoxBoxd runs other daily motorsport games beside it, such as Gridtexto, a Contexto-style word game, and a Connections puzzle, and the site also has iOS and Android apps. Boxdle is free with no sign-up and suits F1 fans who know the grid across the decades.
How to play Boxdle (BoxBoxd)
- Open boxboxd.fun/boxdle and type a Formula 1 driver's name in the box.
- Pick the driver from the list to make your guess.
- Read the row: green is correct, grey is wrong, yellow on team means the driver raced there before, and orange or blue say whether the answer is higher or lower.
- Use the clues to narrow the field and guess again.
- Find the driver within six tries, then share your result or check the leaderboard; a new driver comes at midnight CET.
Tips
- Open with a long-serving driver from a big team: a yellow team cell tells you the answer drove there at some point.
- Debut year splits the pool by era quickly, so read it before nationality.
- Race numbers changed every season before 2014, so for older drivers the number is the one they carried most.
- Remember age counts today or at death, so it can point to drivers from decades ago.
