F1 Driver Guessing Game board after a first guess of Max Verstappen, with coloured constructor, nation and stat cells and the day's clue above

F1 Driver Guessing Game is a free daily puzzle on the Formula 1 site Pole to Paddock. Each day you get one clue about a mystery driver and five guesses; every guess shows how its team, nationality, age, titles, wins, podiums, seasons and debut year compare with the answer. An archive of past days and an unlimited practice mode sit beside the daily one.

About F1 Driver Guessing Game (Pole to Paddock)

F1 Driver Guessing Game is one of the browser games on Pole to Paddock, a free Formula 1 site that also carries stats, fantasy tools and other daily games such as Griddle, Box Box and a daily trivia quiz. The guessing game picks one mystery driver a day for everyone and gives you five tries to name him.

A day's puzzle opens with a single line of text about the driver, for example a team move or a career milestone. You type a name into the search box and the guess drops into a grid with eight columns: constructor, nation, age, world titles, wins, podiums, seasons and debut year. Each cell is coloured: green for a match, yellow for a close nationality (same heritage or continent), red for a miss. Number cells carry an arrow that says whether the answer is higher or lower, and a gold ring when the guess is within 2 of the right value.

Above the board you choose the pool of drivers: All Eras, Legends (before 2000), Modern (2000 to 2020) or Current (2021 on). That lets a newer fan stick to today's grid while a long-time follower takes on the whole history of the sport. Past days can be replayed from the Archive, and an Infinite mode draws a random driver whenever you like without touching the daily streak.

When you finish, the game keeps your streak and lets you share a grid of your guesses. It plays in the browser with no sign-up. It suits Formula 1 fans who know their drivers' records and want something short to do each day, and it sits close to Paddockdle, Boxdle and Stewardle, with the opening clue and the era choice as what sets it apart.

Tips

  • Start with a driver from the middle of the field in debut year and wins, so the arrows split the pool in two.
  • The constructor column is often the quickest way in: once it turns green, think of who drove for that team in the era you chose.
  • Narrow the pool to Current if you follow only recent seasons; the clue line then usually points at one or two names.
  • Use Infinite mode to practise reading the arrows without risking your streak.

Questions
