KAMI 2 is a puzzle game from State of Play in which you tap areas of folded paper to change their colour, trying to turn the whole sheet one colour within a move limit. Its global Daily Challenge features a new puzzle each day, chosen from player creations, with a winning streak and scores compared with other players.
About KAMI 2
KAMI 2 is the sequel to KAMI (2014) by State of Play, the studio behind Lumino City and INKS. It came out on iPhone and iPad in March 2017, with an Android version from the same team, and in July 2026 it arrived on Steam, published by Noodlecake, and on Nintendo Switch. The boards are sheets of paper made of triangles, each folded in a colour; the studio built them from real paper that it cut and photographed.
A move is simple: pick a colour, tap an area, and that area and everything of the same colour joined to it fold over to the new colour. The goal is to make the whole sheet a single colour. Each puzzle has a target number of moves, and solving it within that target earns a Perfect sticker. More than 100 hand-made puzzles teach the tricks one by one before turning them around.
The Daily Challenge sits on top of that. Players can build and share their own sheets in the Puzzle Builder, and State of Play said it would pick the best of them for the Daily Challenge, so the daily puzzle is one featured design, shared with players everywhere. Solving dailies builds a winning streak, and the game compares your score with other players. Android achievements run from solving 3 daily challenges up to 50.
On phones and tablets the game is free with ads, with in-app purchases for hints and patterned paper packs. The Steam and Switch versions are paid. KAMI 2 suits players who like short, quiet puzzles where the answer is a handful of well-chosen moves rather than a long grind.
How to play KAMI 2
- Open KAMI 2 and choose the Daily Challenge from the main menu.
- Look at the sheet and the move target shown for today's puzzle.
- Pick a colour from the palette.
- Tap an area of the paper; it and every touching area of the same colour fold over to the colour you picked.
- Keep folding until the whole sheet is one colour, ideally within the target for a Perfect, then come back tomorrow to extend your streak.

Tips
- Look for the colour region that touches the most other regions and work outward from it.
- Count how many separate colours are left; you rarely finish in fewer moves than that.
- Change a central area several times so it swallows its neighbours one colour at a time.
- Play the puzzle through in your head before tapping; one wasted move can cost you the Perfect.
- If you run short of ideas, solve player puzzles in Explore to learn the patterns builders like to use.
