Invisible Color
Slide nine look-alike circles until their hidden colours match the pattern.
Every day: One daily board seeded from the date (UTC), the same for everyone: slide the rows and columns of nine look-alike circles until their hidden colours match the target pattern, in as few moves as you can, with a daily leaderboard. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.

Invisible Color is a small daily logic puzzle. Nine identical circles hide their colours; you scroll rows and columns of a wrapping 3x3 board, and coloured borders tell you whether each circle's colour is in the right place, in the right row or column, or not there at all. Solve the day's board in as few moves as you can.
About Invisible Color
Invisible Color is a browser puzzle shown on Hacker News in July 2026 as a daily logic game. Each day's board is generated from the date, so everyone plays the same one, and finished times go onto a daily leaderboard ranked by moves.
The board is a 3x3 grid of circles that all look the same, above a 3x3 target pattern of coloured squares where some colours can repeat. You move circles by scrolling whole rows left or right and whole columns up or down, and the board wraps around at the edges. Each circle's border is the only clue: green means its hidden colour is in the right square, yellow means the colour belongs somewhere in that row or column, and no glow means it does not. You can tap a circle to write a note on it.
The number of colours sets the difficulty, and fewer colours make the puzzle harder because more circles look alike in the feedback. A practice mode gives unlimited boards, and the share text records your moves for the daily.
It suits players who like Mastermind-style deduction and sliding puzzles and want a short daily brain teaser.
How to play Invisible Color
- Open invisible-color.xyz for the day's board.
- Compare the nine hidden circles with the coloured target grid.
- Scroll a row sideways or a column up or down to move circles; the board wraps.
- Read the borders: green is right, yellow is in this row or column, none is not here.
- Keep moving until every circle shows green, in as few moves as you can.
Tips
- Fix a circle with a green border first and plan moves that keep it in place.
- Tag circles with what you have learned about their colour.
- A yellow border in both a row and a column narrows the colour to their crossing.
