About HOTSdle

HOTSdle takes the pattern of LoLdle and applies it to Heroes of the Storm. Each mode picks its hidden hero from the date, so everyone playing on the same day gets the same answers, and your daily progress is saved in the browser.

The Hero mode is the classic one. Type any hero and the game shows, for each attribute, whether it matches the day's hero: the Blizzard franchise it comes from (Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo, Overwatch and the others), its type and role, its difficulty, its resource, its gender, and whether it was released earlier or later. Each guess narrows the field until you find it.

The other modes test different kinds of knowledge. Ability shows one ability icon, sometimes turned or in grey; Talent shows a talent; Power gives the hero's ratings; Emoji gives five emoji picked for that hero; Color shows the dominant colours of its portrait; and Duo hides two heroes at once, marking each attribute as correct for both, for one or for neither. A Practice switch next to Daily gives random rounds when you want more.

It suits Heroes of the Storm players who know the roster and anyone who plays the other hero -dles for League of Legends, Dota 2 or Overwatch.

How to play HOTSdle

1. Choose a mode at the top: Hero, Ability, Talent, Power, Duo, Emoji or Color, and keep Daily selected.
2. Type the name of a Heroes of the Storm hero and pick it from the list.
3. Read the clues: matching attributes are marked correct, and the release year says whether the answer came out earlier or later.
4. Keep guessing until you find the day's hero, then move on to the next mode.
5. Switch to Practice for random rounds that do not touch the daily.

Tips

• Start the Hero mode with a hero from a large franchise like Warcraft to split the roster quickly.
• The release year arrow cuts the list in half each guess, so use it.
• In Duo, a clue marked correct for one tells you that only one of the two hidden heroes shares it.
• Type all in the guess box for help with the rules.
