Honeychroma
Rate itTurn the hexagons of a honeycomb until every touching edge matches its neighbour's colour.
Every day: Four new numbered boards each day, one for each tier from Drone (a single ring of hexes) to Queen (four rings), the same for every player. Your score is the number of rotations, with a perfect mark for the fewest possible. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.

Honeychroma is a free daily puzzle on a honeycomb of coloured hexagons. You turn each hex until every edge that touches another matches it in colour, across four boards a day that grow from Drone to Queen. The count of your turns is your score, and the aim is to solve each board in the fewest.
About Honeychroma
Honeychroma is a browser puzzle built on a honeycomb. Each hexagon is split into coloured wedges in shades of honey yellow, and the board starts scrambled. Your job is to turn the hexes until every edge that meets a neighbour shows the same colour on both sides.
The daily puzzle went live on 14 September 2026 and is numbered from there: Daily #1, #2 and on. Each day brings four boards, one per tier. Drone is a single ring of seven hexes around a centre, Nurse adds a second ring, Forager a third and Queen a fourth, so the easy board takes a minute and the hard one asks for real planning. Everyone plays the same boards that day.
A tap turns a hex clockwise and a tap and hold turns it counter-clockwise. The counter at the top of the board adds up every rotation, and three pips under it show how close you came to the fewest turns the board needs. If you are stuck, a hint lets a bee solve one hex for you, at twice the rotations that hex needed, so it is there for help but costs you score.
What sets it apart from pipe and circuit games is that there is no source to connect and no path to close: only colours that must meet along shared edges, which makes the outer rings a careful matter of working inward from the corners. An archive lets you go back to any earlier day's boards, a stats panel keeps your streak and lifetime turns, and a share button sends the board you solved. There are no ads or accounts; the game asks for support through Ko-fi.
It suits players who like short, calm spatial puzzles, and the tiers let a beginner stop at Drone while a regular works up to Queen.
How to play Honeychroma
- Pick a tier at the top of the page: Drone, Nurse, Forager or Queen.
- Look at where two hexagons meet: each shared edge must end up the same colour on both sides.
- Tap a hex to turn it one step clockwise, or tap and hold to turn it one step counter-clockwise.
- Keep turning until every touching edge on the board matches; the board is solved when no edge is left unmatched.
- Check the rotation counter and pips to see whether you solved it in the fewest turns, then share your board or move on to the next tier.

Tips
- Turning a hex the wrong way costs extra rotations, so decide whether it is closer clockwise or counter-clockwise before you tap.
- Start from hexes on the rim, which have the fewest neighbours, and fix the centre once its surroundings are set.
- A hint solves one hex but charges twice the turns it needed: save it for the larger Forager and Queen boards.
- Use the archive to play the days you missed; past boards are numbered so you can compare with friends.
