Greekest (Puzzleship)
A Latin square of Greek symbols: once per row, column and diagonal.
Every day: Six numbered grids a day, from very easy to ultra hard and the same for everyone: place each Greek symbol once in every row, column and both long diagonals; past days are in an archive. New puzzle: Midnight in your own time zone, as the site states.

Greekest is a diagonal Latin square from Puzzleship. Each Greek symbol must appear once in every row, every column and both long diagonals. There are no boxes as in sudoku, and with symbols instead of digits there is nothing to add up.
About Greekest (Puzzleship)
Greekest asks for a Latin square with an extra twist: the two long diagonals count too. Every symbol has to appear exactly once in each row, each column and each of the two diagonals. Cells on a diagonal answer to three rules at once, and the centre cell, where both diagonals meet, answers to four.
It resembles diagonal sudoku but has no boxes, and the cells hold Greek letters such as alpha and omega rather than numbers. That removes any arithmetic habit and leaves a pure question of where each shape can still go. Asking where a symbol can go in a row is often more useful than asking what fits a cell.
Puzzleship publishes six grids of Greekest a day, graded from very easy to ultra hard. Each day's grids are numbered and dated, the same for every player, and appear at midnight in your own time zone; earlier days stay playable in the archive. The site is free with ads, and a premium plan removes them.
How to play Greekest (Puzzleship)
- Open Greekest and pick one of the day's six grids.
- Drag a symbol from the tray into an empty cell.
- Make sure it appears only once in its row, column and any diagonal it sits on.
- Tap a placed tile to lift it back out if you need to backtrack.
- Finish when every cell is filled.
Tips
- Check the diagonals before the rows; they are what usually trips people up.
- Work out the centre cell early.
- Ask where one symbol can still go in a row, not only what fits one cell.
- Fill the diagonals first on small grids; they constrain everything else.
