Equinox (Puzzleship)
Balance suns and moons in every row and column, never three in a row.
Every day: Six numbered grids a day, from very easy to ultra hard and the same for everyone: fill the grid with suns and moons, balanced in every line with no three in a row and every marker obeyed; past days are in an archive. New puzzle: Midnight in your own time zone, as the site states.

Equinox is Puzzleship's take on Binairo, also called Takuzu. Each row and column holds equal numbers of suns and moons, no symbol appears three times in a row, and equals and cross markers between cells say whether neighbours match or differ.
About Equinox (Puzzleship)
Equinox is a binary grid puzzle dressed in suns and moons. Three rules pull against each other: every row and column must hold as many suns as moons, no symbol may appear three times running, and markers between some cells say the two neighbours must be the same (equals) or different (cross). The board starts partly filled.
Most of a solve is pattern spotting. Two equal symbols side by side force the opposite symbol at both ends; a gap between two equal symbols forces the opposite in the middle; and a line that has all of one symbol fills the rest with the other. LinkedIn's Tango uses the same rules with its own symbols, and the hardest Equinox grids lean heavily on the markers.
Puzzleship publishes six grids of Equinox a day, graded from very easy to ultra hard. Each day's grids are numbered and dated, the same for every player, and appear at midnight in your own time zone; earlier days stay playable in the archive. The site is free with ads, and a premium plan removes them.
How to play Equinox (Puzzleship)
- Open Equinox and pick one of the day's six grids.
- Tap a cell to cycle it between sun, moon and empty.
- Keep every row and column balanced between suns and moons.
- Never let three of the same symbol sit together in a line.
- Obey the equals and cross markers, and fill every cell to finish.
Tips
- A pair of matching symbols forces the opposite symbol on both sides.
- A single gap between two matching symbols must be the other symbol.
- When a line has all the suns it needs, the rest of it is moons, and vice versa.
- On hard grids, follow the markers in chains.
