Gauge is a one-minute daily estimation game. Five rounds test how well you can judge numbers, proportions, angles, time and length by eye, and each is scored for accuracy from 0 to 100 percent.

About Gauge (Yuki Games)

Gauge is a free browser game that asks how far you can trust your eyes. Each day brings a gauntlet of five quick rounds, seeded by the date so that every player in the world gets the same targets, and you get one attempt at it.

The rounds are always the same five skills. Count: a cloud of dots flashes and vanishes, and you say how many you saw. Pour: fill an unmarked glass to an exact percentage. Angle: swing an arm to a given angle with no protractor. Hold: press and hold for an exact number of seconds with no clock. Length: stretch a line to match one shown at an angle.

Each round scores your accuracy from 0 to 100 percent, and your daily result is the average of the five, with a five-square trail of green, yellow and red to share. A practice mode serves endless rounds, either mixed or one skill at a time, keeps a lifetime average per skill in your browser, and adds an eye-rank ladder you climb with experience points.

It needs no account, has almost no text, and takes about a minute, which makes it easy to fit in alongside other daily games. It suits anyone curious about their sense of proportion and timing.

How to play Gauge (Yuki Games)

  1. Open Gauge and start today's gauntlet.
  2. Count: watch the dots flash, then drag to set how many you saw.
  3. Pour and Angle: drag to fill the glass to the asked percentage or swing the arm to the asked angle.
  4. Hold: press and release when you think the asked number of seconds has passed.
  5. Length: stretch your line to match the one shown, then share your average score.

Tips

  • For dots, do not count: estimate one quarter of the cloud and multiply.
  • For pouring, judge the empty part of the glass rather than the filled part.
  • For angles, think of 90 degrees as your anchor and judge the offset from it.
