About Fissle

Fissle gives every player the same 4x4 grid each day, released at midnight UTC together with a themed 5x5 grid. The 16 letters hide four words. You trace a word by connecting adjacent letters, diagonals included, and submit it; the tiles you used split away from the board.

The twist is efficiency. You start with a fixed budget of fuel cells and every submitted word burns one, so random words waste fuel. Clear all 16 tiles with fuel to spare and you earn up to five stars; a perfect run uses only the four hidden words. Results keep your streak alive and place you on the daily leaderboard.

Beyond the daily grid there is a themed 5x5 grid, a Speed Streak mode unlocked by fast clears, live 1v1 challenge races against a friend, an archive of past grids, word lists and a strategy guide.

It suits Boggle and Squaredle players who enjoy finding words in a grid, with an extra layer of planning.

How to play Fissle

1. Look at the 4x4 grid of letters for today.
2. Trace a word through adjacent letters, including diagonals, and submit it.
3. The tiles you used split away; each submitted word burns one fuel cell.
4. Clear all 16 tiles before the fuel runs out; fewer words means more stars.

Tips

• Look for the four hidden words, not just any word; extra words waste fuel.
• Corner letters have few neighbours, so find words that start or end there first.
• Uncommon letters such as Q, X or Z usually sit in one of the hidden words.
• Try the themed 5x5 for extra practice once the daily is done.
