FilmSweep
Find every film that fits its actor and its column, without touching the bomb.
Every day: One numbered 4 by 3 board a day, the same for every player: rows of actors, columns of film criteria, and a field of movie tiles to sweep for the ones that fit, with three lives, three minutes and one bomb. New puzzle: Midnight Eastern Time, stated on the How to Play page.

FilmSweep is a daily movie trivia grid with a minesweeper twist. Each row names an actor and each column sets a criterion, and you tap the films that match both while avoiding decoys. You have three minutes and three lives, and one decoy is a bomb that ends the game.
About FilmSweep
FilmSweep takes the movie grid idea and turns it into a sweep. The board is four rows by three columns: each row is an actor and each column a condition about the film. Instead of typing answers, you are shown film tiles and tap the ones that star the row's actor and meet the column's condition. Correct ones fill the board; decoys cost you.
The pressure comes from three limits at once. You have three minutes on the clock and three lives, and an ordinary decoy takes a life. One tile on the board is the bomb, and picking it ends your attempt on the spot. A win starts at 1,000 points, loses points as the clock runs and loses 166 for each decoy you hit; a bomb, a timeout or losing all your lives scores zero. You can press and hold a film or actor for details.
A new board arrives at midnight Eastern Time and counts towards the daily leaderboard. Past boards are kept on a calendar and can be played in Practice, where scores are not saved. After a game you can review the board to see the tiles you missed and how other players chose.
The site runs in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Japanese, Hindi and Chinese. It suits film fans who know casts well and like a timer.
How to play FilmSweep
- Open FilmSweep and start today's board to begin the three-minute clock.
- Read each row's actor and each column's criterion.
- Tap the film tiles you believe match both their row and their column.
- Avoid decoys, which cost a life, and the single bomb, which ends the game.
- Finish by finding all the correct films, then review the board and check the leaderboard.
Tips
- Start with the actors you know best and clear their rows first.
- If you are unsure of a tile, press and hold it for details rather than risking a life.
- Speed matters for score but the bomb ends everything, so do not guess wildly at the end.
- Use Practice on past boards to learn how the criteria are worded.
