Linky Words is a daily word search played by linking letters. Each day brings ten grids on one theme, the same for everyone, and you drag through touching tiles to spell every hidden word. It plays free in the browser with no signup and no ads, or in the Android and iPhone app.
About Daily Word Puzzle: Linky Words
Linky Words is a word puzzle from Metiscoda LLC, a small studio in Sacramento. Each level is a small grid of letter tiles and a theme, and every word hidden in the grid belongs to that theme. You find a word by dragging from tile to tile, across, down or diagonally, and the path can turn at every letter, so a word can wind around the board rather than run in a straight line. Clear every word and the level is done.
The daily puzzle is ten levels on a single theme, shared by every player that day. On the day we looked the theme was Detective, and the first grid was a 3x3 with two words to find. The grids grow to 4x4 and then 5x5 over the ten levels. A timer runs while you play but nothing is lost to it, and there are no lives or move limits. When you finish you get a result to share with one square per level, green for a level cleared without a hint, plus your word count and time.
The browser version at metiscoda.com plays the daily with no signup, no ads and nothing to install, and every past day can be opened from its list of past puzzles. The app for Android and iPhone has the same daily, keeps a streak, plays offline once a puzzle has loaded and adds more than 300 free-play levels in 32 categories across four collections: Classic, Geography, Mythology and Word Origins. The app is free with a banner and some full-screen ads, which one purchase removes, and hints are earned by playing, by watching a video or bought in packs.
It sits close to Strands in how words bend through the grid, but each day is a run of ten small boards rather than one large one, so it suits players who like short, steady sessions. The maker also offers it as English spelling practice for beginner and intermediate learners.

Tips
- The slots above the grid show how many words are left and how long each one is, so look for a word of that length first.
- A word can change direction at every letter, so do not only scan in straight lines.
- Every tile is part of a word, so letters left over after a find tell you where the remaining words must run.
- Save hints for the 5x5 grids late in the day's set, where the paths are longer.
