Gridogram
Trace words in a letter grid to piece together the day's hidden quote.
Every day: One hidden quote a day, the same for everyone: trace words through a grid of letters, Boggle style, to fill in the blanks of the quote. New puzzle: Midnight on your own device's clock (the day's grid is picked by your local date).

Gridogram hides a quote in a small grid of letters each day. You swipe through touching letters to make words; words that belong to the quote turn gold and drop into its blanks, others show in blue as clues. Finish the quote with as few spare words as you can, then see its source and how other players did.
About Gridogram
Gridogram, made by Jackson Pauls, is a word search with a twist: the words you find are not the goal in themselves, they are pieces of a quote. Each day there is a small grid of letters, often 4x4 or 5x4, and above it a line of dashes standing for a hidden quotation. You trace words through touching letters, as in Boggle, and the game sorts them as you go.
Words that belong to the quote turn gold and drop into their blanks. Words that are real but not in the quote show in blue, and they are placed in alphabetical order among the gold ones, so even a miss tells you something about where the hidden words fall. The days have themes (Friday, for example, is Book Club), and once you finish you get the source of the quote, a short note on its background and a chart of which words other players found. You can also give up or reset.
It is a quiet puzzle that rewards reading the shape of a sentence as much as spotting words in a grid. It suits people who like quotations, word searches and Boggle, and who want something that takes a few minutes. The Vault has learn-to-play grids for beginners, pangram grids and themed sets you can play any time.
How to play Gridogram
- Open Gridogram and look at the dashes above the grid: they are the words of the day's hidden quote.
- Swipe or tap touching letters in the grid to make a word.
- Gold words are in the quote and fill their blanks; blue words are not, but their alphabetical position hints at nearby quote words.
- Keep finding words until the whole quote is filled in, or give up to see it.
- Read the quote's source and background, and compare your words with other players'.
Tips
- Short words like a, of, the and my are often in the quote, so look for them early.
- Use the length of each blank and the punctuation to guess the famous line before you search.
- Blue words sit in alphabetical order among the gold ones, so a blue word just before a blank narrows its first letters.
