Daily Murder

A new murder case each morning: read the evidence, work the grid, name the killer.

Every day: One new murder case every morning, published for everyone: read witness testimony and forensic evidence, then work a deduction grid to name the killer, the weapon and the location, by logic alone. New puzzle: Every morning (the site does not state the exact time).

Daily Murder is a daily logic-deduction puzzle. Each morning brings a new murder mystery with suspects, weapons and locations; you read the testimony and evidence, mark a deduction grid and make your accusation. Cases get harder from Monday to Friday, harder days include a lying witness, and Sunday brings a linked conspiracy case.

About Daily Murder

Daily Murder, made by Keep Computing, turns the classic logic-grid puzzle into a short murder mystery. Each case has an Evidence tab with witness statements and forensic findings, a Case Board that introduces the suspects, weapons and locations, and a Grid where you cross off pairings that cannot be true. When only one combination is left, you make your accusation. Every case is built to be solved by deduction, never by guessing.

Difficulty follows the week. Monday is the easiest place to start and Friday the hardest; on harder days one witness is lying and you have to find the contradiction. On Sundays there is a larger conspiracy case linked across clues. Cases are generated from a cast of 60 suspects, 30 weapons and 144 locations, with a period, typewriter look.

You can play in the browser without an account, or on the Android app. Signing in adds friends, weekly leagues, scores and synced streaks. The game is free with ads; a one-time Detective's Pass removes them.

How to play Daily Murder

  1. Open today's case and read the Evidence tab: witness statements and forensic findings.
  2. Look through the Case Board to meet the suspects, weapons and locations.
  3. On the Grid, mark the pairings each clue rules out.
  4. On harder days, find the witness whose statement contradicts the rest.
  5. When one killer, weapon and location remain, make your accusation.

Tips

  • Start on a Monday to learn how clues map onto the grid.
  • Mark every certain cross before chasing harder clues: eliminations cascade.
  • If the clues seem to contradict, a lying witness is likely; test each statement against the others.
  • Use Undo freely while you work; only the accusation counts.
