Crossing The Lexicon
Spell words across a grid to join three laurel squares, using as few letters as possible.
Every day: One numbered board a day, the same for everyone: connect three laurel squares with words built from your letter tiles, using as few letters as you can. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.

Crossing The Lexicon is a daily word puzzle on an open grid. Place letter tiles to form words that connect three laurel squares while avoiding blocked squares; the fewer letters you use, the better your score, and the game shows the optimal count to aim for.
About Crossing The Lexicon
Crossing The Lexicon is a word puzzle in the spirit of a crossword you build yourself. Each daily board has three gold laurel squares and a few blocked squares on a grid. Using your rack of letter tiles, you spell words that cross and join until all three laurels are linked.
Score depends on economy: the fewer letters you place, the better. The game tracks letters used against an optimal solution, and if your rack runs dry you can draw three more letters at a cost of 3 points. Blocked squares cannot hold tiles, which forces some detours.
Each day's board is numbered from February 2025 and the same for every player, so you can share a result or a link that lets friends view your solution, its tile layout only, or play the same board themselves. A new daily challenge starts at midnight UTC. There is also an Android app that adds notifications for the next game.
It suits players who like Scrabble-style tile placement but want a puzzle with a clear target rather than an opponent.

Tips
- Plan one long word through two laurels first, then branch to the third.
- Short words that share letters with existing ones save the most tiles.
