LetterLinks

LetterLinks daily game: a 5x5 board of DL, TL, DW and TW bonus squares with a star in the centre, beside a rack of scored letter tiles including J, H, F and two wild cards, and a Submit Words button

LetterLinks is a daily word-building game on a 5x5 board with Scrabble-style bonus squares. You get the day's rack of scored letter tiles, including wild cards, and place them as connected words through the centre star, then submit for a score. A daily bonus challenge rewards words that fit a special pattern.

About LetterLinks

LetterLinks gives every player a daily rack of about twenty letter tiles, each with a point value in its corner, and a five by five board scattered with double and triple letter and word squares. You place tiles to form words reading left to right or top to bottom, like Scrabble: every word must be at least two letters long, all tiles must connect, and one tile must sit on the centre star before you can submit.

Some racks include wild cards, marked with a star, that can stand for any letter, and some days bring bonus tiles that double the score of the word they are in. Tapping the gift icon shows the day's bonus challenge, a word pattern that earns 1.5 or 2 times the points. When you submit, invalid words are highlighted in red, and your score counts toward a skill level shown beside it.

You can drag tiles or tap to place them, shuffle or clear the rack, and see a leaderboard and yesterday's best board. Once today's game is done, a countdown shows when the next daily challenge opens. It is free in the browser with ads, and suits Scrabble players who want one compact board a day.

How to play LetterLinks

  1. Look at the day's rack of letter tiles and their point values.
  2. Drag or tap tiles onto the 5x5 board to form words across or down; one tile must cover the centre star.
  3. Keep every tile connected, and use DL, TL, DW and TW squares for bonus points.
  4. Use wild cards for any letter, and check the gift icon for the day's bonus word pattern.
  5. Press Submit Words to score; invalid words show in red.

Tips

  • Put high-value letters such as J or H on triple letter squares where two words cross.
  • Build around the centre star first, then branch out toward the triple word squares.
  • Save wild cards to complete a long word through a bonus square.
  • Check the daily bonus pattern before you start: a qualifying word can be worth double.
