Bloxist daily puzzles on Puzzleship

Bloxist is a rolling block puzzle. A 2x1 block tips end over end across a grid, standing on one square or lying across two, and the portal only accepts it standing upright. Each board has a par for the fewest moves.

About Bloxist (Puzzleship)

Reaching the portal is easy; arriving upright is the puzzle. The block's orientation depends on the exact sequence of rolls, so the shortest route is often the wrong one. Two rolls in the same direction always leave it upright again three squares further on, which is the rhythm to count.

Only a few squares can be the last step into the portal, so aim for one of those rather than the portal itself. If a route arrives flat, a single detour out and back on the other axis usually flips the orientation without changing the rest. Controls are the arrow keys or WASD, with U to undo.

Puzzleship publishes six boards of Bloxist a day, graded from very easy to ultra hard. Each day's boards are numbered and dated, the same for every player, and appear at midnight in your own time zone; earlier days stay playable in the archive. The site is free with ads, and a premium plan removes them.

How to play Bloxist (Puzzleship)

  1. Open Bloxist and pick one of the day's six boards.
  2. Roll the block with the arrow keys or WASD.
  3. Track whether it is standing on one square or lying across two.
  4. Reach the portal with the block upright on top of it.
  5. Press U to undo; compare your moves with the par.

Tips

  • Count rolls per direction, not squares travelled.
  • Find the squares you can roll into the portal from, and aim for those.
  • A short out-and-back detour on the other axis flips the orientation.
  • The gentle boards can be solved in your head before you press a key.
