Word Guess is the Wordle-style game on ABC's puzzles page: one hidden five-letter Spanish word a day, the same for every reader, to find in six tries. It is free to play on abc.es.
About Word Guess (ABC)
Word Guess sits on the Pasatiempos page of ABC, the Madrid daily, alongside its crossword, Notigrama, sudoku, autodefinido, word wheel and word search. Despite the English name it is a Spanish game: the board has six rows of five squares, and the on-screen keyboard includes the Ñ.
Each day there is one hidden word for every reader. You type a five-letter word and press Enter, and the squares show which letters are in the word and in the right place, which are in it but elsewhere, and which are not in it at all, as in Wordle. You have six rows to find it. A hint button (Pista), a timer and a colour theme sit under the keyboard.
It is free, with advertising on the page. It suits Spanish speakers who play Wordle and want a daily word from their own newspaper, and learners who want five-letter practice.
How to play Word Guess (ABC)
