Witchdle is a free daily puzzle site for fans of The Witcher. Every day at midnight UTC it publishes seven puzzles, from guessing a character by their traits to naming a monster from the bestiary, and everyone plays the same set.

About Witchdle

Witchdle is an unofficial fan site built on The Witcher's books and games. It is not connected to CD Projekt Red, Andrzej Sapkowski or Netflix, and it is paid for by ads and tips. Its puzzles come from hand-picked lists of ninety-two characters, seventy-nine bestiary entries and ninety-two Gwent cards; where the novels and the games disagree, the novels win.

The main mode is Character Guess. A character is drawn from the roster each day and every name you type comes back marked against seven attributes: gender, home region, race, whether they are still alive, hair colour, rough age, and which of the books, games and Netflix show they appear in. Beside it sit six more: Name the Character from a portrait, Quote of the Day, Emoji Guess, Gwent: Higher or Lower, Connections with sixteen characters in four hidden groups and four mistakes allowed, and Name the Beast from a bestiary picture.

Every mode gets its new puzzle at 00:00 UTC, so the reset lands at the same moment everywhere. A finished puzzle gives an emoji grid to share without the answer, and an archive control on each game page steps back through the last few days. Stats and streaks stay in your browser, with no account.

It suits readers of the saga and players of the games who want more than one kind of question; the whole site can be switched to Polish.

Tips

  • Region and race together cut the roster fastest in Character Guess.
  • The books win where they disagree with the games, so answer by the novels when a detail differs.
  • Use the archive control to catch up on a day you missed while it is still in the window.
