Who's That Monster? is a free daily picture quiz for Old School RuneScape players. Each day it shows five monsters as black silhouettes, and you get one guess at each; your score is how many of the five you catch.
About Who's That Monster?
Who's That Monster? is one of the daily Old School RuneScape games on Skel's Games, the site built by Skeldoor that also runs Questdle, Skilldle, Examindle, Shrimpillion and a twin game for items, Who's That Item?. It works much like the Who's That Pokemon? segment of the cartoon, with Gielinor's monsters. Each day picks five monsters from a list of more than five hundred, from Zombie swabs to Zulrah, in an order fixed by the date, so everyone playing on the same day sees the same five.
A round shows one monster as a solid black outline of its in-game model. You start typing a name and pick from the suggestions, or skip. There is only one guess per round: right or wrong, the picture is then revealed in full with the monster's name, its examine text and its combat level, and you move on to the next.
After five rounds a results screen gives your score out of five with a short verdict, lists the five monsters with a tick or a cross, and counts down to the next set at midnight. A streak counts the days in a row you have played, and a button leads on to Who's That Item?.
It suits players who know the game's monsters by shape, from bosses to the odd quest creature, and want a quick check-in. It is free in the browser and needs no account; progress is kept in the browser.
How to play Who's That Monster?
- Open skelsgames.com/monster.
- Look at the black silhouette and start typing the monster's name.
- Pick a name from the suggestions and press Guess, or Skip if you have no idea.
- See the monster revealed with its name, examine text and combat level, then press Next.
- After five rounds, read your score out of five and come back after midnight for the next set.
Tips
- Look at the outline for weapons, wings, tails and the number of legs before naming anything.
- Size helps: bosses and large creatures fill the frame differently from small monsters.
- Since you get one guess per round, pick from the suggestion list so a spelling slip does not cost you the round.
