Examindle cast 6, round 1 of 6: an item's examine text with the name word blanked out, four hint markers, a Name the item box with Guess and Skip, and a 0 out of 24 score above six round tabs

Examindle is a free daily quiz for Old School RuneScape players. Each day gives six examine texts, two items, two NPCs and two objects, and you name each thing in up to four guesses; every miss unlocks a hint, and a first-guess answer is worth four points.

About Examindle

Examindle is one of the daily Old School RuneScape games on Skel's Games, the site built by Skeldoor that also runs Questdle, Skilldle and Shrimpillion. Every item, NPC and scenery object in the game has an examine text, the short line you get when you right-click it, and Examindle asks you to name the thing from that line alone. The day's set is numbered as a cast, the first on 30 September 2026, and is the same for everyone; a new one comes at midnight UTC.

A day has six rounds in a fixed order: item, NPC, object, then the same again. The examine text is shown with any words that would give the name away blanked out. You type a guess or skip. Each wrong guess unlocks a hint: facts such as whether an item is members only, tradeable and what it fetches with High Alchemy, an NPC's combat level and right-click options, or an object's footprint. The last hint shows a pixelated picture of the thing and the shape of its name, with the first letter and length of each word.

A right answer on the first guess is worth 4 points, then 3, 2 and 1, so the day's best is 24. After each round the answer is named with a link to its OSRS Wiki page. The start screen shows how many players have finished the day and their average score, results can be shared as a grid of squares and medals, and a streak counts the days you play.

It suits players who read examine texts for fun and remember the jokes in them, and it reaches well past the famous items into NPCs and scenery. It is free in the browser and needs no account, and each round has a form to report a wrong hint or a guess that should have counted.

How to play Examindle

  1. Open skelsgames.com/examindle and press Start.
  2. Read the examine text; blanked words would give the name away.
  3. Type the item, NPC or object you think it describes and press Guess, or Skip.
  4. After each miss, read the new hint; the fourth and last one shows a pixelated picture and the shape of the name.
  5. Play all six rounds and see your score out of 24, then share it.

Tips

  • Examine texts are often jokes or puns on the name: read them for wordplay before thinking of stats.
  • Note the round type at the top; the item, NPC or object tag rules out most of the game at once.
  • For items, the membership and High Alchemy hints narrow things down fast, so a quick wrong guess can pay off when you are unsure.
