TileKnight daily board for Oct 2, 2026 with red tiles showing numbers, a queen, a knight and bishops

TileKnight is a daily logic puzzle on a small grid of tiles marked with numbers or chess pieces. You pick a starting tile, and each tile you land on decides where you can go next. Clear the whole board without stepping onto an empty square, on an Easy, Medium or Hard board each day.

About TileKnight

TileKnight is a free browser logic puzzle that borrows ideas from chess. The board is a six by six grid with a handful of red tiles on it. Some tiles show a number and others show a chess piece such as a knight, bishop, rook or queen.

The site describes it as inspired by chess, sudoku and nonograms, and it comes with a short four-part tutorial that introduces number tiles first and then the chess pieces one pair at a time.

Each day there are three boards, Easy, Medium and Hard, dated and shared by everyone, with a countdown to the next set at midnight Pacific time. You tap a tile to start. The tile you are on decides your next move: number tiles and piece tiles each allow different jumps, and each tile you leave is cleared. The puzzle is solved when every tile is gone. If your only move would land on an empty square, you are stuck and need to restart.

The hard part is choosing where to begin, since most starting tiles lead to a dead end. If you are stuck, the game can reveal a starting tile. It suits players who like short route-finding puzzles and know how chess pieces move.

How to play TileKnight

  1. Open TileKnight and choose the Easy, Medium or Hard daily board.
  2. Tap a tile to choose where to start.
  3. Move to another tile using the move allowed by the number or chess piece you are on.
  4. Keep jumping; each tile you leave is cleared.
  5. Clear every tile without ever landing on an empty square.

Tips

  • Play the tutorial first; it shows how each kind of tile moves in two or three minutes.
  • Work backwards: find a tile that only one other tile can reach and plan to visit it last.
  • If you are stuck, use the hint to reveal a starting tile rather than restarting at random.
