Tilbo
Type words onto a letter grid and clear the matching tiles before the grid fills up.
Every day: Three daily boards (Easy, Medium and Hard), each seeded from the date with starter letters, so everyone gets the same boards that day. New puzzle: Midnight in your own time zone (the daily seed uses the device's date).

Tilbo is a word game where every word you type lands on a grid of letter tiles. When a new letter sits next to the same letter, they light up and you can tap to clear them. Clear every tile on the day's Easy, Medium or Hard board to win, but fill the grid and the game is over.
About Tilbo
Tilbo is a free browser word game built around matching letters. The board is a grid five tiles wide that starts with a few letters already on it, and each word you type is added as a new row of tiles.
It is made by Alex Duckmanton, who links a Ko-fi page and his Bluesky account from the game's menu for support and feedback.
Each day there are three boards, Easy, Medium and Hard, which start with one, two or four seeded starter words. You type words of any length; whenever a letter ends up next to a matching letter, the pair lights up and a tap clears it. The goal is to empty the board completely. If the rows stack up and the grid fills, the attempt ends.
The twist is that you are not looking for one right answer: the words you choose matter for where their letters land. Picking a word so its letters touch the right neighbours is the real puzzle. Outside the daily boards there are Unlimited and Timed modes for longer play. It suits players who like spatial puzzles as much as vocabulary.
How to play Tilbo
- Open Tilbo and pick Easy, Medium or Hard.
- Type a word of any length and submit it; its letters are added to the grid.
- Look for letters that now touch a matching letter, which light up.
- Tap the lit tiles to clear them.
- Keep going until every tile is gone, without letting the grid fill up.
Tips
- Before typing, look at the letters on the edge of the stack and pick a word that lands matching letters next to them.
- Short words are safer when the grid is nearly full.
- Start with Easy to learn how rows land before trying Hard, which begins with four starter words.
