The Calendar Puzzle is a daily take on the puzzle-a-day calendar board, playable in the browser and on iPhone. Each day you fit a set of tetris-style shapes into a board printed with months, days and weekdays so that only the current date stays uncovered. There are Mini, Daily and Weekday boards, challenge modes, an archive and a time leaderboard.
About The Calendar Puzzle
The calendar puzzle, also known as the puzzle-a-day, is a board printed with calendar squares and a set of flat pieces. The goal is to cover every square except the ones for today's date. The Calendar Puzzle puts that on screen: the date shown on the board changes every day, so each day is a new packing puzzle, and every player works on the same date.
There are three boards. Mini is a compact board, Daily leaves the month and day showing, and Weekday uses a full calendar where the month, the day and the day of the week all stay uncovered. You draw a shape by tapping and dragging across the board, double-tap to remove it, and fit every shape from the shape bank to finish. A timer runs while you play, three hints are available, and you can submit your time to the leaderboard or go back to earlier days in the archive.
The app adds challenge modes such as Find All, where you hunt every unique solution for the date, and offline play. The Calendar Puzzle is made by Evan Davison, started on the web and came to iOS in early 2026. It is free.

Tips
- Cover the corners and edges first; the squares around the date are usually the tightest fit.
- Use the long thin shapes along the border of the board.
- The Weekday board has more pieces, so start with the Mini board to learn the shapes.
