Sumset (Puzzle Round)
Select numbers until every row and column reaches its target.
Every day: One number grid a day, the same for every player: select numbers so every row and column total exactly matches its target. Each board has one solution; ranked by time on the daily leaderboard. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.

Sumset is Puzzle Round's daily number grid. Select numbers so the selected ones in each row and column add up to the target at the end of that line. Each board has exactly one solution, and everyone gets the same board each day.
About Sumset (Puzzle Round)
Sumset is an arithmetic logic puzzle. The grid, 5x5 on the day we looked, is filled with numbers, and each row and column has a target total printed at its end. Selecting a number adds it to both its row total and its column total.
The job is to choose numbers until every current total matches its target. Selected numbers turn amber, totals that match turn green, and a total that has gone over its target turns red, which tells you to deselect something on that line. Tapping a selected number again removes it. The generated board has exactly one solution, so careful sums beat guessing.
Sumset is the mirror image of the delete-the-numbers puzzles some sites call reverse sudoku: here you build totals up instead of crossing numbers out. Your time goes to the daily leaderboard.
Puzzle Round is a free website of short daily puzzles by thatsoftwaredude, an independent developer. Every player gets the same puzzles each day, a countdown on the site runs to the next midnight UTC, and each game keeps its own daily leaderboard ranked by solve time. You can play without signing up; a free account saves your result to the leaderboard and keeps your streak, and private Circles let a family or a group of friends compare results. Clearing the whole lineup in a day counts as a Perfect Day.
How to play Sumset (Puzzle Round)
- Open puzzleround.com/sumset to load today's grid.
- Tap a number to select it; it counts toward its row and its column.
- Watch the totals: green matches the target, red is over it.
- Tap a selected number again to deselect it.
- Make every row and column match to finish.
Tips
- A number larger than its row's target can never be selected.
- If a line's target equals the sum of all its numbers, select them all.
- Fix lines with one obvious combination first, then use the column totals to check.
- Red totals tell you exactly which line to repair.
