Summit Triad is a daily visual logic puzzle from the maker of Summit. A pyramid of fifteen spaces forms ten overlapping triangles of three tiles. You place every tile from the bank so that, in each upward triangle, each trait is either the same on all three tiles or different on all three, like the card game Set.

About Summit Triad

Summit Triad uses the rule made famous by the card game Set. Each tile has several traits, and three tiles make a valid group when, for every trait, they are all alike or all different.

The board is a pyramid of fifteen numbered spaces, some given, which together form ten smaller triangles of three tiles each, such as 1-2-3, 2-4-5 and 3-5-6. Only the outlined triangles that point upward have to be valid. You drag tiles from the bank into the pyramid, or tap a tile and then its destination, and use each tile once. Because tiles sit in more than one triangle, tile 5 for instance must work in 2-4-5, 3-5-6 and 5-8-9 at once, every placement narrows the options around it.

The built-in guide suggests starting from two known tiles and working out the missing one a trait at a time, and ruling out candidates that would need a tile no longer in the bank. If you are stuck you can reveal a tile at the cost of an extra minute. There is one pyramid a day, the same for everyone.

It suits fans of Set and of calm visual deduction, and players of the word puzzle Summit from the same maker.

How to play Summit Triad

  1. Look at the pyramid, the given tiles and the tile bank.
  2. Drag a tile into a space, or tap it and then tap the space.
  3. Make each outlined upward triangle valid: for each trait, all alike or all different.
  4. Check that every tile works in every triangle it belongs to.
  5. Place every tile once; reveal one if stuck, at the cost of a minute.

Tips

  • Where two tiles of a triangle are known, the third is fully determined trait by trait.
  • Rule out any candidate that needs a tile already used.
  • Fill the tiles shared by three triangles carefully; they constrain the most.
