Daily Set Puzzle

Daily Set Puzzle for Friday, October 2, 2026: twelve Set cards in a grid, timer, hint button and an empty Sets Found panel

Daily Set Puzzle is a free version of the classic Set daily puzzle by Annie Grace Hu. Twelve cards are dealt, and you have to find all six sets of three, where each feature is either all the same or all different across the three cards. A timer runs, hints are available, and past days are a click away on the calendar.

About Daily Set Puzzle (anniehu.com)

The game uses the familiar Set deck: each card has a shape (oval, squiggle or diamond), a colour (red, purple or green), a number (one, two or three) and a shading (solid, striped or empty). A set is three cards where, for each of the four features, the cards are either all the same or all different. Each day's board has twelve cards and exactly six sets to find.

You click three cards at a time; found sets fill the panel on the right. A timer runs from the start, and Pause hides the cards so you cannot study the board while stopped. If you are stuck, Hint highlights a card from a set you have not found, or builds on cards you have already selected, and each hint shows as a bulb in your shared result.

The board is generated from the date in Pacific Time with a seeded random generator, so everyone gets the same puzzle. A calendar lets you play earlier days and see yesterday's solution, a profile tracks your record, and global stats show how many people completed each day. There are dark and colour-blind modes and keyboard controls. It suits Set players who miss the old daily puzzle and want a quick morning scan.

How to play Daily Set Puzzle (anniehu.com)

  1. Look over the twelve cards; the timer has started.
  2. Click three cards that form a set: for each of shape, colour, number and shading, all the same or all different.
  3. A correct set moves to the Sets Found panel; find all six.
  4. Use Hint if you are stuck, at the cost of a bulb in your result.
  5. Share your time, or open the calendar to play earlier days.

Tips

  • Pick any two cards: the third card of their set is fully determined, so look for it.
  • Sets where all four features differ are easy to miss; check for them on purpose.
  • Each card can be in more than one set, so do not ignore cards you have already used.
  • Turn on card numbers or colour-blind mode in Settings if colours are hard to tell apart.
