Stumpty
Rate itOne brain teaser a day: type your answer, unlock a hint if you are stuck, and see the solution tomorrow.
Every day: One brain teaser a day, the same for every visitor and marked Easy, Medium or Hard: a maths problem, a logic question or a word riddle. The solution is published the next day on the Yesterday's solution page. New puzzle: Once a day; the site asks players to come back each morning, without giving an exact time.

Stumpty puts up a single brain teaser each day, marked Easy, Medium or Hard. You type your answer into a box and submit it; after a first attempt a hint unlocks. The full solution appears the next day, and there is no back catalogue to binge, only today's question.
About Stumpty
Stumpty is a small website built around one question a day. Its maker writes that the idea is to keep minds sharp by working through a challenge each day, even when you do not crack it. The challenges vary: a simple word riddle one day, a tougher maths question or a puzzle that needs you to step back and look at the bigger picture on another.
The front page shows the date, the Challenge of the day and a difficulty badge. On 6 October 2026 the Easy question asked for the angle between the clock hands at 1:20; on 7 October the Medium question asked what number thirty students should all write down so that each of them matches the class average. You type your answer into the Submission box. A hint stays locked until you have made a first attempt.
The Yesterday's solution page shows the previous day's question and its full working, each hidden behind a tap so you can try it first. There is deliberately no archive: the site asks you to come back each morning for the next one.
A separate Twenty Four page offers the old card game for practice: four numbers from 1 to 10 are dealt and you make 24 with addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and brackets, using each number once. Stumpty is free, needs no account and suits anyone who likes a single short puzzle to think about over coffee.
How to play Stumpty
- Open stumpty.com to see today's date, the Challenge of the day and its difficulty.
- Read the question and work out your answer.
- Type the answer in the Submission box and press Submit answer.
- If your first attempt is wrong, open the hint that unlocks and try again.
- Come back the next day to read the full solution on the Yesterday's solution page and to get a new teaser.
Tips
- Read every word of the question: the medium and hard teasers often turn on one detail, such as rounding or who is counted.
- For maths teasers, try a tiny example first (two students instead of thirty, a simpler time on the clock) to see the pattern.
- Make a real first attempt before giving up, because the hint only unlocks after one.
- Check the Yesterday's solution page even when you solved it; the working often shows a quicker route.
- Warm up on the Twenty Four page if you like number puzzles.
