Sportdle
Daily player guessing games for some 20 sports and esports leagues, Wordle-style.
Every day: A new mystery player, driver or fighter every day in each of about 20 leagues, from the NBA, NFL, Premier League and Formula 1 to chess, UFC and esports; each guess returns a row of green and red clues with higher or lower arrows. New puzzle: Midnight in each league's home time zone (stated on the game pages).

Sportdle gathers daily player guessing games for about 20 leagues in one place: basketball, football, the NFL, the NHL, Formula 1, MotoGP, tennis, chess, MMA and six esports titles. In each, you guess a player and get a row of clues coloured green for a match and red for a miss, with arrows on the numbers. Many leagues add extra daily modes such as a grid, a career path, a stat line, a clue ladder or a silhouette.
About Sportdle
Sportdle is an independent site that puts the daily player guessing format, the one most fans know from Poeltl and its many copies, into a single routine across many sports. Each league has a Classic game with a new answer every day: the NBA, EuroLeague and ABA League in basketball, the Premier League, the Champions League and a World Cup 2026 game in football, the NFL, the NHL, Formula 1, MotoGP, tennis, chess, UFC and FNC, plus esports games for League of Legends, CS2, Dota 2, Valorant, Rainbow Six Siege and Fortnite.
You type the name of any player in that league and get a row of clues comparing them with the hidden answer. In the NBA game the columns cover team, division, position, height, jersey number, draft year and more. Green cells match, red cells do not, and numeric columns show arrows pointing higher or lower. The site says most players get the answer in four to eight guesses.
Many leagues have more modes. Depending on the sport there is a Grid, a Career Path where you name the player from their clubs, a Stat Line, a Clue Ladder of hints revealed one by one, a Team game and a Silhouette. Each game has an archive of past answers and a page of hints for the day, and you can play unlimited random rounds for practice or pick a player for a friend to guess.
Each daily answer changes at midnight in the league's home time zone. Progress stays in your browser, and an optional account syncs results and your Sportdle streak across devices. The site carries sponsored links and is not affiliated with any of the leagues.
How to play Sportdle
- Choose a league or esports title on the Sportdle home page.
- Type the name of any player in that league to make a guess.
- Read the clues: green means a match, red a miss, and arrows show whether the answer is higher or lower.
- Keep guessing until you find the day's player, then try the other modes or another league.
Tips
- Start with a well known player from the middle of the league so team and numeric clues narrow things fast.
- Lock in green columns: only guess players who share every matched value.
- Use the arrows on height, age or jersey number to bracket the answer before guessing names.
- Play an unlimited random round first if a league is new to you, to learn which columns matter.
