Statzle
Daily sports puzzles built from real stat lines, rosters and career paths.
Every day: A new puzzle each day for every mode in every league, the same for everyone: guess a player from a career path or a box score, fill a grid, sort connections and spot the false fact, across eight leagues. New puzzle: Once a day; the site says a fresh set arrives every morning but does not state the time.

Statzle is a daily sports puzzle site covering the NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB, NHL, Premier League, MLS and UFC. Each league gets a fresh set of puzzles every day, from guessing a mystery player by their team history to naming who put up a real box score.
About Statzle
Statzle builds its puzzles from data rather than writing them by hand. Team histories, box scores, draft classes and rosters come from public sports data sources, and a script turns them into each day's games. The site says it is built and run by one person. Every mode gets one new puzzle per league per day, and no account is needed to play.
The modes cover most of the formats sports trivia players already know. Career Path reveals a mystery player's teams one step at a time. Stat Line shows a real game's numbers and you guess whose they were. Higher/Lower asks whether each new player beat the last on one career stat, Grid asks for players who fit a row and a column at once, and Connections hides four groups of four among sixteen players. Three five-round modes finish the set: Odd One Out, Teammates (were these two ever on the same team?) and Two Truths and a Lie. In the UFC, Opponents replaces Teammates and asks whether two fighters ever met.
Not every league has every mode; the Premier League and MLS skip the ones their data cannot support. Every past puzzle stays playable in a monthly archive calendar, and a separate Team Trivia section lets you rebuild rosters, draft classes and retired numbers for 139 teams at your own pace. Signing in only adds a cross-device streak and a place on the leaderboard. It suits fans who follow more than one league and want a day's worth of short sports puzzles in one place.
How to play Statzle
- Pick a league, such as the NFL or the Premier League.
- Choose one of the day's modes, for example Career Path or Stat Line.
- Make your guesses; each mode shows how close you are or how many tries remain.
- Move to the next mode or league from the result screen.
- Win on consecutive days to build a streak, and use the archive for days you missed.
Tips
- In Career Path, the first team or two often narrows the field to a single draft era.
- In Stat Line, look at the minutes, attempts or touches as well as the headline numbers; they hint at the player's position and role.
- In Connections, set aside players who could fit two groups until the obvious group is solved.
