Spellabl is a daily word puzzle played on a round board of rings and segments. The letters spell out one or more hidden words; you drag them together along neighbouring segments, in the right order, so each word ends on the centre letter. There are Easy, Medium and Hard boards every day.
About Spellabl
Spellabl is one of the daily games on Puzzabl, an independent puzzle site and app made by Richard Griffiths. It uses the same round board as its number puzzle Sumabl: a circle split into rings and segments, with one letter in each segment and a letter in the middle.
The letters on each board spell out one or more words, which you have to find in the right order. The letters of each word sit next to one another, and the letter in the centre is the last letter of every word. You drag letters together across the board, combining them as you go, until everything has been brought into the centre. A word can sometimes be traced more than one way, but only one path through the board finishes the puzzle, so you plan the order of your moves as much as you look for words.
Each day brings three boards. Easy is a small board of two rings with four segments each, Medium has three rings, and Hard is the toughest of the three. A counter tracks your moves, hints, resets and mistakes. A free account adds stats, a win ratio, streaks and leaderboards, including private ones for friends and family.
It suits players who like Strands or Squaredle style letter paths but want a short puzzle with a fixed answer, and the three levels let you stop at a quick one or work through all of them.
How to play Spellabl
- Open Spellabl and choose Easy, Medium or Hard for today's board.
- Read the letters around the rings and look for words that end on the centre letter.
- Drag letters into neighbouring segments to join them, building each word in order toward the centre.
- Keep going until every letter has been brought into the centre; use a hint if you are stuck.
- Come back the next day for three new boards.
Tips
- Start from the centre letter and read outward: every word ends there, so look for words that finish with it.
- Before moving, trace the whole word through neighbouring segments; a wrong merge can block the only path.
- Play Easy first to see the day's style of board before Medium and Hard.
- Hints and resets are counted, so think a move ahead if you care about a clean score.
