Sedecordle's sixteen Wordle boards side by side

Sedecordle is Wordle times sixteen: every guess goes into sixteen boards at once, and you have 21 guesses to solve them all. There is a daily game in each of three modes, Sedecordle, Sedec-order and Savior, plus unlimited practice and versions with words of 4 to 11 letters.

About Sedecordle

Sedecordle takes the Wordle idea and multiplies it. The name comes from the Latin for sixteen, which is how many hidden five-letter words you are solving at the same time. Each word you type is entered on all sixteen boards at once, and each board colours the tiles separately: green for the right letter in the right spot, yellow for a letter in the word but elsewhere, grey for a letter that is not there. All sixteen answers are different, and you have 21 guesses to find every one.

With so many boards, the game becomes a matter of bookkeeping as much as vocabulary. Quick-jump buttons along the top let you move between boards and light up when a word is solved, and a counter shows how many guesses you have left.

There are three daily modes. The original Sedecordle shows all sixteen boards at once. Sedec-order shows only one unsolved word at a time, so you must solve the boards in order. Savior starts with the first four guesses already chosen for you and asks you to rescue the game from there. Each mode also has a practice version you can play as often as you like, and a Variations page offers all three with words from 4 to 11 letters.

Version 2.0 of the site added light and dark themes, daily statistics with streaks and win rate, and sharing to several social networks. The old version is still available, and games carry over between the two.

How to play Sedecordle

  1. Open sedecordle.com and choose the daily game in Sedecordle, Sedec-order or Savior mode.
  2. Type a valid five-letter word and press enter; it is entered on all sixteen boards.
  3. Read each board's colours: green means right letter and spot, yellow means in the word but elsewhere, grey means not in the word.
  4. Use the quick-jump buttons to check boards and plan guesses that help several at once.
  5. Solve all sixteen words within 21 guesses, then share your result.

Tips

  • Spend your first three or four guesses on words with many different common letters to gather information across all boards.
  • Each solved word uses one guess, so with sixteen words you only have five guesses to spare; avoid guesses that solve nothing.
  • Finish boards that are nearly done before working on the hardest ones.
  • Try Sedec-order or Savior in practice first, since they change how you need to plan.
