RuneGuesser's Level unlocks board: a prayer potion icon and the question of which Herblore level mixing it needs, with six guess boxes

RuneGuesser is a fan-made Old School RuneScape quiz with four daily rounds. You guess the level a skill action needs, pin an NPC on the map of Gielinor, estimate an item's Grand Exchange price and place a music track where it plays. Each mode keeps its own streak, and past days can be played from the archive.

About RuneGuesser

RuneGuesser is a free browser game for players of Old School RuneScape. It is fan-made and says plainly that it is not affiliated with Jagex. Each UTC day it sets four challenges, one in each mode, and everyone gets the same set; a countdown on the front page shows when the next one arrives at midnight UTC.

Level unlocks names an action and its skill, such as mixing a prayer potion with Herblore, and you have six guesses to enter the exact base level it needs, with arrows saying higher or lower. Where in Gielinor? names an NPC and asks you to place a pin on the world map; the closer you land, the more of the 5,000 points you keep, with a small allowance for the character's usual wandering area. Price check shows one item from the Grand Exchange and asks for the previous UTC day's average buy price; you have six guesses to come within 5 percent, and you can type amounts like 850k or 1.2m. Music areas plays a 15-second clip of a track and asks you to pin the surface area where it plays.

Each mode has its own completion streak kept in your browser, and finishing a round counts even with a low score. Share buttons give a result with no spoilers, and a challenge archive lets you practise any past date without touching the streak. NPC, music and level data come from the Old School RuneScape Wiki.

It suits players who know the game well and want a quick test of their memory of skills, the map, the market and the soundtrack in one sitting, rather than a single guess-the-thing puzzle.

How to play RuneGuesser

  1. Open runeguesser.com and pick one of the four daily challenges: Level unlocks, Where in Gielinor?, Price check or Music areas.
  2. In Level unlocks, read the action and the skill, enter a level from 1 to 99 and follow the up or down arrow; you have six guesses to hit the exact level.
  3. In Where in Gielinor?, pan and zoom the world map, click to place a pin where the named NPC stands, then lock in the location for up to 5,000 points.
  4. In Price check, guess the item's previous-day average Grand Exchange price in gold pieces; six guesses to get within 5 percent.
  5. In Music areas, play the 15-second clip, then pin the area of the map where that track plays.
  6. Finish each mode to keep its streak, share your result, and come back after midnight UTC for the next set.

Tips

  • The level asked for is the base skill level only: quests, boosts and tools are not part of the answer.
  • For prices, type 850k or 1.2m instead of long numbers; a repeated guess does not use an attempt.
  • On the map rounds, a pin anywhere inside the NPC's wandering allowance or the music area scores full points, so aim for the middle of the area you remember.
  • Use the archive to practise older dates; it never changes your daily streak.
