Send monsters to a club door, work out the bouncer's secret rule and pass his exam in fewer tests than the bot.

Every day: One secret door rule a day, the same for every player: the bouncer admits monsters by a short rule on shape, colour, pattern, eyes or hat, and you crack it in fewer tests than a bot that played the same night. A single trait on Monday, up to two traits with a not inside by Sunday. New puzzle: Midnight, local time.

Ropecall Daily #3: 0 tests against the bot's 5, a wall of three monsters let in and three turned away, the bouncer at the rope, and shape, colour and pattern pickers

Ropecall is a daily rule-finding game from Dayzle set at the door of a monster club. The bouncer lets monsters in by a secret rule; you build monsters, send them to the door one at a time and then call eight new ones in or out to prove you have cracked it, aiming to use fewer tests than the bot.

About Ropecall (Dayzle)

Ropecall is one of the daily games on Dayzle, a site of original puzzles by TLL Studios. Each night the bouncer of a monster club follows one secret rule about who gets in, and everyone plays the same door that day. The wall above the entrance starts with six examples, three monsters let in and three turned away.

Every monster has five traits: a shape (round, square, triangle or star), a colour, a pattern (plain, stripes or spots), one to three eyes, and a hat or none. You pick a value on each row to build a monster and send it to the rope. The bouncer lets it in or turns it away, and each test counts one. Stars and crosses on the trait names let you note which ones you think matter, and a filter shows only monsters with a given trait.

Rules are always short: one trait, such as only blue ones or no hats, or two traits joined by and, or, or exactly one of the two. Eyes can also be two or more or two or fewer. When you think you know it, you take the exam: eight new monsters to call in or out. All eight right cracks the rule. A miss only tells you how many were wrong, costs two tests, and after three failed exams the rule is revealed.

A bot played the same night, always sending the monster that rules out the most. Beating its count earns a trophy, matching it a handshake, and one or two tests more still earns two stars. Rules grow trickier through the week, from a single trait on Monday to two traits with a not inside on Sunday, and past nights can be replayed from the archive without affecting your streak.

How to play Ropecall (Dayzle)

  1. Open Ropecall on dayzle.app and study the six starting monsters: three let in, three turned away.
  2. Choose a shape, colour, pattern, number of eyes and hat to build a monster, then send it to the door.
  3. Watch whether the bouncer lets it in, and keep testing until you think you know his rule.
  4. Take the exam and call each of the eight new monsters in or out; all eight right cracks the rule.
  5. Compare your number of tests with the bot's and share your row of dots, which never shows the rule.

Tips

  • Change one trait at a time: if a monster gets in and the same one in blue does not, colour matters.
  • Try to break your own theory with a monster that differs in everything except the trait you suspect.
  • Remember a failed exam costs two tests, so test a little more when two rules still fit what you have seen.
  • Use the trait notes and the wall filter to keep track of which values you have already ruled out.

Is Ropecall free?
