About Rondo (RTÉ)

Rondo, with the tagline Link Your Letters, is a word game on RTÉ Games, the games section of Ireland's public broadcaster. The rte.ie games page frames the game, which runs on a gamesgrid.gg page. Its home screen offers three modes: the Daily Puzzle, Sudden Death and a Campaign.

The Daily Puzzle gives you seven letters in a ring. You draw a line from letter to letter, in any direction, to spell a word of two or more letters, and each word you find fills a slot in the list below, grouped by length. A counter at the top shows how many of the day's words you have found (0 of 30 on the day checked, from two to four letters) and a clock shows how long you have taken. The day's letters are worked out from the date, so every player has the same puzzle on the same day, and a new one comes each day.

If you get stuck, Use Hint traces one of the missing words on the ring for you; there are three hint charges. Sudden Death gives you 90 seconds to find as many words as you can, and the Campaign has 50 levels of increasing difficulty. Rondo is free to play, with an advert above the game.

How to play Rondo (RTÉ)

1. Open Rondo on RTÉ Games and choose Daily Puzzle.
2. Look at the seven letters in the ring and the empty word slots below, grouped by word length.
3. Press on a letter and draw a line through other letters, in any direction, to spell a word of two or more letters, then let go.
4. Each word you find fills its slot and adds to the counter at the top.
5. Keep going until every slot is filled; if you are stuck, press Use Hint to have a missing word traced on the ring.

Tips

• Use the slots as a guide: they tell you how many words of each length are still missing.
• Start with the two-letter words: there are only a few, and they are quick to clear.
• Save the three hint charges for the last few words, when the slots show only one or two of a length left.
