PIVOT
The word is given. The route isn't.
Every day: One puzzle a day, the same for everyone: a small grid of letters and a target word; rotate 2x2 blocks around pivot dots until the word reads along the gold centre row, in as few moves as possible. New puzzle: Midnight US Eastern Time.

PIVOT shows you the answer and asks for the route. A small grid of letters has a gold centre row and pivot dots between the tiles; tapping a dot turns the four letters around it clockwise. Spell the day's target word along the gold row in the fewest moves and see where you rank on the daily leaderboard.
About PIVOT
PIVOT is a free daily tile puzzle that launched in 2026. Unlike most word games it does not hide the word: the target is shown from the start, and the challenge is getting the letters there.
The board is a few rows of letter tiles with a gold centre row. Between the tiles sit pivot dots, and tapping one rotates the 2x2 block of letters around it a quarter turn clockwise. Every rotation moves four letters at once, so putting one letter in place can knock another out, and the puzzle becomes a matter of planning a short sequence of turns that leaves the whole word in the gold row.
Each rotation counts as a move, and fewer is better. Your result can go on the daily leaderboard with a verified score, compared globally or within your own circles, and you can watch animated replays of the best solutions. Past days, practice and custom games are there too, along with keyboard controls, a high-contrast mode and a dyslexia-friendly font.
It suits players who enjoy sliding-block and Rubik-style puzzles as much as words; most solves take about a minute, and shaving off the last move is where the fun lies.
How to play PIVOT
- Read the target word you need to spell in the gold centre row.
- Tap a pivot dot to rotate the four letters around it one quarter turn clockwise.
- Plan rotations that bring the target letters into the gold row in order without disturbing the ones already placed.
- Finish when the gold row spells the word; every rotation counted as one move.
- Post your score to the daily leaderboard and watch replays of the shortest solutions.
Tips
- Work out where each target letter is before moving anything; some sit one turn away.
- Four turns of the same pivot undo themselves, so three turns one way equal one turn back.
- Fix the ends of the word first; the middle letters are easier to shuffle into place later.
