PicBits
Reveal as few cells as possible, then name the day's hidden picture.
Every day: One numbered hidden image a day for everyone, with a category such as Animal: reveal as few cells of the 16x16 grid as you can, then name the picture; a locked bonus image and older days are extras for members. New puzzle: 11am US Eastern time.

PicBits is a daily image puzzle. A picture is hidden behind a 16x16 grid; you tap cells to uncover pixels one at a time and guess the image as soon as you recognise it, and your score depends on how many cells were still covered.
About PicBits
Each PicBits puzzle hides one image behind 256 cells. You know its category, for example Animal or Sport, and the length of the answer. Tapping a cell reveals that part of the picture, and every reveal lowers your score from 100 percent. When you think you know what it is, press 'I know what it is' and type your answer. You can zoom and move around the grid to inspect what you have uncovered.
There is one numbered daily puzzle for all players, released at 11am US Eastern time, along with high scores and the best score recorded for the puzzle. Signing up saves your score and streak, and a membership unlocks extras such as a bonus image each day and older puzzles in the archive. The game launched in 2026 and has optional background music.
It suits players who like quick visual guessing games and want a small risk-and-reward decision each day: reveal one more cell, or guess now.
How to play PicBits
- Open PicBits and press 'Play today's puzzle'; note the category and answer length.
- Tap cells to reveal parts of the hidden picture; each reveal costs a little score.
- Zoom and move around the grid to study what you have uncovered.
- Press 'I know what it is' and type your guess; the more cells still hidden, the higher your score.
Tips
- Reveal cells spread across the grid first to get a sense of the overall shape and colours.
- Use the category and answer length to narrow down the possibilities before revealing more.
- Edges and backgrounds tell you little; aim reveals at where the subject probably is.
- Guess as soon as you are fairly sure; each extra cell lowers your score.
