Numgrove is a free daily math puzzle. Each day brings a number tree at three levels: you place numbers from a pool into empty circles so that every + node equals the sum of the numbers below it and every × node their product, right up to the number at the top.

About Numgrove

Numgrove is a browser number puzzle made by CraftOfTech LLC and launched in 2026. Its puzzle is a tree: a number sits at the root, and below it are nodes marked + or ×. A + node is the sum of the numbers under it and a × node is their product. You get a pool of numbers and fill the empty slots until every branch works and the whole tree adds and multiplies up to the root.

There are three daily trees, all released at midnight UTC: Seedling, Sapling and Ironwood. On Sapling and Ironwood the pool includes decoys, numbers that do not belong anywhere in the tree. If you fill the tree and it does not add up, it shakes, and you fix the wrong branch with Undo or by tapping a circle to take its number back.

Ironwood is the ranked tree. Your score is your time plus 10 seconds for every move beyond the fewest possible, and signed-in players appear on a daily leaderboard that closes at midnight UTC. Solving at least one daily tree on its own day keeps your streak going. Unlimited practice trees are also free.

You can play everything as a guest; signing in with Google, email or phone joins the leaderboard and keeps your streak across devices. It suits players who like Mathler or Digits-style arithmetic but want a puzzle with a shape to it.

How to play Numgrove

  1. Open numgrove.com and choose Seedling, Sapling or Ironwood.
  2. Read the signs: a + node is the sum of the numbers below it, a × node their product.
  3. Tap a number in the pool, then an empty slot, or drag it there; tap a filled slot to take it back.
  4. Work down from the root until every branch adds and multiplies up.
  5. Finish Ironwood quickly and in few moves to rank on the day's leaderboard.

Tips

  • Start near the top: the root tells you what its children must make.
  • Big numbers usually sit under a ×, while small ones often pair under a +.
  • On Sapling and Ironwood, expect decoys; not every piece in the pool belongs in the tree.
  • On Ironwood, extra moves cost 10 seconds each, so think before you place.
