Nodes is a calm daily puzzle in the style of the NYT's Vertex. Each dot shows how many connections it still needs; you link them to form triangles, and each correct triangle fills in part of a low-poly artwork. There is no timer, and it plays in the browser and on phones.

About Nodes

Nodes is a daily connect-the-dots logic puzzle, published on the web and as an app for iPhone and Android since 2024. Its own description calls it a calm daily puzzle ritual: beautiful low-poly artwork, one day at a time.

Each puzzle is a field of numbered points. A number says how many connections that point still needs. You draw lines between points to form triangles, and every correct triangle colours in part of the hidden image, from everyday objects and flowers to animals and people. There are no timers and no pressure, and the site suggests playing it alongside a podcast or audiobook.

Every day brings a new hand-crafted puzzle of the day. A Daily Puzzle Archive groups past days by month, and there are beginner puzzles, collections and extras. No account is needed, and the game has a community on Reddit.

It suits players of NYT Vertex and anyone who wants a relaxing, visual puzzle rather than a race.

How to play Nodes

  1. Open Nodes in the browser or the app and start the puzzle of the day.
  2. Look at each dot's number: it is how many connections that dot still needs.
  3. Draw lines between dots to form triangles; each correct triangle fills in colour.
  4. Finish all connections to reveal the full picture, then browse the archive.

Tips

  • Start with dots showing small numbers near the edge: their connections are the most constrained.
  • When a dot reaches zero, ignore it and look at its neighbours.
  • Take your time: there is no timer and no penalty for thinking.
