MultaVerba is a free daily word game played on a five by five board of letter tiles, the same for everyone each day. You find words by connecting adjacent letters across, down or diagonally, using each tile once per word, and every letter carries a point value. Playing the daily board needs a free account with an email login code.

About MultaVerba

MultaVerba gives everyone the same board of twenty-five letter tiles each day. You find words by joining letters that touch, horizontally, vertically or diagonally, and each tile can be used only once in the same word. Every tile shows its point value: common letters such as A, E and S are worth 1, while letters like C, Y and W are worth 5 or 6, so long words through rare letters score best.

The front page teaches the rules with a short practice: a sample board where you are asked to find a few simple words, with a nudge if you get stuck, before you move on to the day's real board. When you send a word the game tells you whether it is new, already found or not on the board, and adds its points.

The daily board is played with a free profile: you log in by entering your email address and the code it sends you. It suits players who like Boggle and want one board a day shared with everyone else.

How to play MultaVerba

  1. Log in or create a free profile with your email address.
  2. Look over the day's five by five board of letter tiles.
  3. Spell a word by selecting adjacent tiles, across, down or diagonally, using each tile once.
  4. Send the word to score the points shown on its tiles.
  5. Keep finding words to raise your score for the day.

Tips

  • Look for common endings such as -ER, -ED and -ING around the board and build back from them.
  • High-value letters such as C, Y and W are worth chasing in longer words.
  • Once you find a word, try its plural or other forms using a neighbouring S or E.
  • Diagonals are allowed, so check all eight neighbours of a tile before giving up on a path.
